Following a year in which she’s established herself as a force on the South African music scene, amapiano star, Zee Nxumalo, has released “Malume”, which is the eagerly anticipated lead single to her upcoming EP, “Inja Ye Game”.
The release comes after the song has proved a hit on social media platform TikTok since it first leaked earlier in the year. “Malume” features an interesting blend of collaborators from dynamic amapiano producers 031Choppa and Djy Biza, to bubbling vocalist Springle, and veteran hitmaker DJ Tira.
“People have been asking me about this single release for a while,” says the 21-year-old. “I hope my fans enjoy the surprise feature additions we added to the song. I always try and bring together unexpected collaborations and I think we’ve once again hit the mark with this one.”
The release of “Malume” also coincides with the official launch of the album pre-add. Other previously released single that are part of the project are the platinum selling “Thula Mabota” and the recent TBO-assisted soulful amapiano hit, “Ngisakuthanda”.
“It’s been a couple of weeks since we officially launched the roll-out to the EP by unveiling the artwork during her headline performance at Rocking The Daisies, and Zee’s now turning up the heat,” says Zee Nxumalo’s manager, Shingai Darangwa.
“The whole theme around the project is centred around Zee owning and cementing her position as the top dog in the game right now.”
