Ghanaian International Recording Artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy, the most nominated artiste for the 2024 Ghana Music Award Awards, is set to perform on the show on Saturday, June 1.
The TGMA will broadcast live from the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre in Accra this weekend. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the show will honour the year’s top artists who have achieved outstanding musical accomplishments and made the biggest impact in the industry across 30 categories, including the coveted Artiste of the Year award, Reggae & Dancehall Artist of the Year, Best Afropop Song, Best Song Writer Best Vocalist.
Ghanaian singer and previous Ghana Music Awards “Artiste of the Year” winner Stonebwoy is nominated for sixteen awards this year, including the ultimate prize Artiste of the Year, Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Best Song Writer of the Year, Best Album/EP of the Year (“5Th Dimension”), Best Reggae/Dancehall Song (“Non-Stop”).
His song (“Into The Future”) received three nominations for Best Music Video, Most Popular Song of the Year, and Best Afropop Song, while (“Mandozi”) featuring Angelique Kidjo also garnered nominations for Best Highlife Song, Best International Collaboration of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Music Video of the Year.
Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, is no stranger to success at the Ghana Music Awards. Having been the recipient of Artiste of the Year in 2015, earning recognition with ‘Vodafone Green’ and Music for Good awards respectively, as well as setting the record as the Ghanaian artiste with most Reggae & Dancehall Artiste of the Year award wins (7), he has been described as the most-decorated voice in Afropop and king of ragga and dancehallin’ for Africa in his career.
